Details about the new 2015 Audi Q7 were due out last year, but last minute changes to the design have put release of this second generation crossover slightly behind. The big question that everyone is asking is if the delay will be worth the wait. While the new model for this car has not been released yet, some sneak peeks have been taken from VW testing facility in Nürburgring, and plenty of information has already been released.
From the sneak peeks taken recently, it is easy to see that the new 2015 Audi Q7 will have an all-new look. The structure of the body gives this vehicle a coupe like style even though it is a full-size crossover with three rows of seats and room for up to eight passengers. This alone will get the attention of many car buyers looking for more interior space without sacrificing the overall look of the car. Add in the angular predominant front grill, the rectangular LED headlights, and the new 18 to 21-inch wheel design, and you will find that this is going to be one great looking crossover.
VW designers have stated that this newer model will definitely be lighter than its predecessor. Although, just how much lighter is still up for debate, with opinions running anywhere from 650 to a whopping 800 pounds light. This lighter weight is a direct result of the new redesign that includes some aluminum and carbon fiber to go along with its predominantly steel frame.
This lower weight, along with its adaptability to alternative drive trains will provide a smoother drive and faster speeds. The car is expected to be offered in a 3.0 V6 engine or a 4.2 V8 engine, along with a gasoline-electric hybrid. This is the first model in the class to offer a hybrid option in the United States. It is expected that the new Q7 will have an 8-speed automatic transmission and be equipped with a Quattro all-wheel drive.
Not much has been released about the interior of the new 2015 Audi Q7, but it is expected that is will exceed that of the current Audio Q7 2014 model. It is sure to have a luxurious interior that includes high-quality leather seats, three-zone climate control functions, a large cargo area, satellite navigation system, keyless start, entry and stop, and an Audi sound system with an option for the Boise sound system.
Even though this new model has not officially been released on the market, the fact that VW decided to make a redesign at the expense of getting the car to the market late, shows that they are committed to offering the best quality crossover possible. As with all Audi cars, you can expected to see all of the same great safety features, if not even more. These features include driver and front seat passenger airbags, blind spot warning system, a complete parking system with rear cameras for easy backup, child safety locks, 4-wheel disc brakes, brake assist, traction control, and stability control.
Rumors have reported that VW intends to official showcase the new 2015 Audi Q7 at the upcoming Paris Auto Show in September. At this time, more specifics about this great crossover will finally be revealed and pictures of the interior design released. If the car lives up to everything it is expected to, it is likely to be one of the most talked about three-row crossovers on the market. This certainly makes it a vehicle worth a closer look, especially when it is fully released into the market for purchase.
