The 2016 Porsche Boxster Spyder is about to be released and it is pretty much a pure upgrade of the previous model in just about every way. It is only “pretty much” better in every way, as opposed to “definitely” better because the rear of the car is actually a little bit off-putting. An oddly shaped tail and a strangley contoured rear engine compartment cover make the rear of the 2016 Porsche Boxster Spyder look ever so slightly like the rear end of a tadpole. But since you are more likely to be admiring the car from the front or side, from those angles it still looks like a classic, quirky little roadster.
The other thing you should know about this Boxster is that Porsche bent over backwards to make it lighter. The end result of that is a car that doesn’t have a built-in radio, built-in air conditioning, or built-in GPS. Since it does have a sound system, you shouldn’t need a radio, unless you enjoy listening to sports while you drive, and this is a car literally designed for top down driving, which means the AC isn’t a big deal either. But if you purchase this vehicle, you will almost certainly want to opt for navigation in order to get the best driving experience possible.

A Car for Cruising
If you’ve ever read a review of a Boxster before, the information you are seeing here should look very familiar. It is still a quick little roadster that is designed for cruising on long windy highways on beautiful summer days. In this way, there is basically no difference between the new Boxster and the older model. The differences are primarily technical in nature and pretty close to invisible until the end of the day when you realize that you have driven a little bit farther or a little bit faster or used a little bit less gas. It is small changes mostly, but that is because Porsche was starting with a car that was already a masterpiece.
