2014 BMW 3 Series GT FrontviewThe new BMW 3 Series Grand Turisma is perfectly designed for those who are looking for an affordable luxury hatchback that is slightly larger than the standard hatchbacks on the market. BMW has listened to its customers to create a hatchback that is large enough to accommodate families and has the right cargo space for those who are always on the go. Best of all, it came onto the market for a retail price of under $40,000. It seems to have the perfect mixture of just want many drivers are looking for a great hatchback model.

If you think that bigger is better, you are going to love the new 2014 BMW 3 Series Grand Turisma. The designers have added more than 3 inches to the height and just over 4 inches to the width. This not only provides extra legroom for both the front seat and rear seat passengers but adds a lot of cargo space that totals 56.5 cubic feet when the back seats is put down. On top of this, the wider frame has also allowed for a larger hatchback door that makes it easier to store items into that extra-large cargo space.

The car comes with two engine options for the drivers, including the 2.0-liter, four-cylinder engine that provides a240 horsepower with a 258 lb/ft of torque, and a larger, more powerful 3.0-liter, six-cylinder engine that provide 300 horsepower and a 300 lb/ft of torque. Both models come with an eight-speed transmission and four-wheel drive. The car includes the fuel-efficiency automatic start and stop function that helps to provide a rating of 22 mpg in the city and 33 mpg on the highway. Not too bad for a larger hatchback.

2014 BMW 3 Series GT SideviewWith the increase in size, manufacturers have also provided bigger headlights and a larger grille on its new design. The front and tail end of the care are slightly contoured to create a stylish look, along with the 17-inch wheels and rear spoiler. The only downside of the new design is that the sloped hatch back may prevent some larger items from fitting through the hatchback, which takes away from some of the benefit of making it larger in the first place. Although the opening is still larger than most of its competitors.

The interior design has also taken a step up in luxury. It includes heated front seats and steering wheel, 8-way adjustable driver’s seat with a memory function, cruise control, keyless ignition, power lift gate, automatic headlights and wipers, automatic dimming rearview mirrors, and dual-zone climate control. The car is also equipped with BMW’s iDrive interface that comes with a 6.5-inch display screen, a high-quality sound system, and is compatible with Bluetooth and all the BMW apps for smartphones. It also comes with the new Head-up display that allows the driver to see important driving information without looking down.

The car is perfect for those who are looking for a larger hatchback that still looks great and provides the luxurious ride they want. It also includes all the safety features you would want, including an antilock braking system, traction control, stability control, and standard, side, head and knee airbags. The new 2014 3 Series Grand Turisma also includes BMW’s driver assist package that includes blind spot monitoring, front collision warning, rear parking sensors, rearview cameras, lane departure warning, and the automated parallel parking system.

The larger interior legroom is great, especially for backseat passengers and the added cargo space is nearly unheard of in a hatchback model.
