Alfa Romeo 4C

Everyone has different reasons for buying a car. One person may want a car that has unparalleled off-road performance while another person may want a vehicle that has both lots of space and excellent fuel efficiency. The Alfa Romeo 4C is one of those cars you buy for a very specific reason: in order to fully experience the joy of track driving.

To claim that the Alfa Romeo 4C has any other purpose to exist is somewhere between a major exaggeration and an outright lie. The car is unapologetic about its purpose and every single feature of the car is focused specifically towards that purpose. It is truly rare to find a car that is engineered with such intense dedication towards a single purpose.

In fact, this dedicated engineering is the reason the Alfa Romeo 4C wasn’t available in the United States until 2015. The designers at Alfa Romeo didn’t feel that features like adjustable seats or side airbags fit the overall design philosophy of the car, so they weren’t installed in the European models. But, since U.S. law requires these features in new cars, the engineers has to minorly re-design the cars to fit American safety laws. Now that the new designs are ready, the Alfa Romeo 4C will shortly be available and is unquestionably one of the best track driving cars that will be available in 2015.

Keeping in mind that this is a vehicle designed specifically for track driving, be warned that trunk space and leg room are not priorities in this vehicle. In fact, it is nearly true to claim the vehicle doesn’t have a trunk, rather just an oddly placed, slightly large glove compartment. Instead, the vehicle has features that add to performance.

A 237 horsepower, 16 valve engine and 6 speed automatic transmission power the Alfa Romeo 4C to 60 miles per hour in a solid 4.3 seconds. The vehicle tops out at an equally solid 158 miles per hour, a speed that you definitely won’t see off the track. Surprisingly, despite this performance, the car gets 34 miles per gallon on the highway and 24 miles per gallon in the city, primarily due to the incredibly light frame.

A similar list of impressive features does not exist for the interior of the vehicle. With the exception of leather seats, the interior of the car is pretty much stripped down. This makes it a terrible car for long trips, but that isn’t what it is designed for. Buy this car because you want to experience true track driving and you will have gotten one of the best deals in 2015.
